I have a day-time rendered version of this tour with better quality textures on youtube.

The videos look really dark on my screen! What is going on?
First of all, the videos are shot during the night-cycle of the 3D simulation (to mask the fact that my textures are not great). But in addition, colors look different on almost every monitor, so some people may see darker images than others. In any event, you should be able to see the sky as a (dark) navy blue, and you should also be able to make out the trees in the distance. If either of these appear as black in your video, your monitor likely needs calibration. When you check the calibration of your monitor, pay particular attention to the gamma and target white settings.
